02 · INSTALL

The final result begins beneath the floor.

Installation must follow the current technical sheet and actual site conditions. These checks do not replace assessment by a qualified installer.

  1. 01

    Substrate

Flooring requires a sound, clean, stable base compatible with the selected installation system.

    What to verify

Check cohesion, adhesive residue, cracks, contamination and load-bearing capacity before laying the first board.

    Common mistake

Installing on a weak or contaminated substrate and expecting the underlay to correct the problem.

  2. 02

    Residual moisture

A surface that looks dry may retain moisture incompatible with wood, HDF or adhesives.

    What to verify

Measure with the correct procedure for the screed type and document the result before installation.

    Common mistake

Using only a surface meter, relying on elapsed time or sealing moisture in without finding its source.

  3. 03

    Flatness

Substrate deviations create movement, sound, joint stress and uneven wear.

    What to verify

Verify tolerances with the appropriate straightedge and correct them compatibly before underlay or adhesive.

    Common mistake

Compensating with soft layers or forcing boards together during installation.

  4. 04

    Underlay

Underlay affects acoustics, stability, heat transfer and vapour protection.

    What to verify

Select a solution authorised for the collection, substrate and underfloor-heating system where applicable.

    Common mistake

Choosing by thickness or price without checking compressive strength, joint protection and vapour control.

  5. 05

    Floating or bonded

Both systems may be valid, but sound, response, repair and preparation requirements differ.

    What to verify

Decide according to product, substrate, acoustics, underfloor heating, dimensions and expected use.

    Common mistake

Changing the recommended system during the work or bonding a collection not approved for adhesive installation.

  6. 06

    Expansion gaps

Materials change dimension and require room to move without lifting or opening joints.

    What to verify

Respect perimeters, structural joints, doorways and maximum areas stated by MEISTER.

    Common mistake

Blocking the floor with fixed furniture, rigid sealant, screws, frames or tightly fitted skirting.

  7. 07

    Laying direction

Orientation changes the perception of length, width, light and continuity.

    What to verify

Study the main room, incoming light, corridors and transitions before setting the starting line.

    Common mistake

Starting from a wall without checking squareness and ending with an impractical final row.

  8. 08

    Finishing details

Skirting, profiles, stairs, doors and junctions turn correct laying into a finished project.

    What to verify

Define components, colours, heights, clearances and stair details before calculating and ordering.

    Common mistake

Leaving details until the end and discovering that the required profile, colour or size is unavailable.
